19th Century French Louis XV Carved Walnut Stool and Verdure Aubusson Tapestry
This elegant, antique fruitwood stool was crafted in Southern France, circa 1860. The large rectangular seat features four scrolled legs with hand-carved acanthus leaves. Underneath, there are claw feet, and an elaborate X stretcher with a center carved floral rosette. The seat has been reupholstered with a colorful, 18th century verdure tapestry from Aubusson, decorated with foliage and tree decor in a rich green, beige and blue palette. The piece is in excellent condition and has a rich walnut patina throughout the wooden frame, embellished by decorative patinated nailheads.
