Decorate your fireplace or kitchen back splash with this elegant antique fire back. Created in France and dated 1642, the ornate fireplace essential features the Royal crest of King Louis XIII with a top Royal crown at the top and two “Blasons” with Fleur-de-Lis one one, and chains displayed as a cross, two cornucopia “horn of plenty”, and two winged angels on either side. The large and heavy plaque is in excellent condition with a rich patinated black and silver steel finish. Louis XIII ( sometimes called the Just; 27 September 1601 – 14 May 1643) was King of France from 1610 until his death in 1643 and King of Navarre (as Louis II) from 1610 to 1620, when the crown of Navarre was merged with the French crown.
