17th Century Spanish Carved Walnut Polychrome Bishop Bust with Velvet Cassock
Make a statement on your mantel, enfilade or tabletop with this antique Haute Époque carved bishop figure. Created in Spain, circa 1680, the clerical bust is carved from walnut and features a tall two-tone miter (or mitre) in a luxurious fuchsia and gilt palette. The robe, or cassock, is made of red velvet with a gesso application under the garment. The unique, religious bust is in excellent condition and has a richly patinated polychrome painted finish.
