This elegant antique statue of the Virgin Mary and her Son, found in a chapel, was carved in Southern France, circa 1780. The large alluring polychrome and gilt sculpture in high relief, features Madonna carrying our Lord Jesus Christ with His right arm in movement. The tall religious figure has wonderful carving details throughout the dress, hair and facial expressions. The religious statue is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use with the original patinated gilt and polychrome finish. Measures: 7″ W x 5.25″ D x 19.5″ H.
