18th Century French Copper Jelly and Jam Boiling Bowl with Iron Handles
Bring an authentic French countryside touch to your kitchen with this large antique copper marmalade bowl. Crafted in Normandy, France, circa 1780, the decorative “Bassine a Confiture” (or jelly bowl) is round in shape and dressed with two forged iron side handles attached with rivets. The simple, traditional kitchen accessory is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich polished finish throughout; Both the inside and outside of the bowl have a hammered surface. Versatile and shallow, the large dish could also be used as a wine or beer cooler filled with ice, or simply as a centerpiece planter. Measures: 19″W x 18″D x 10″H.
