18th Century French Louis XIII Carved Walnut Coffer Trunk from The Pyrenees
Store your winter blankets in this antique fruitwood trunk. Crafted in the Pyrenees mountains (southwest France) circa 1780, and sited on a decorative bottom plinth, the chest has the original forged hinges in the back and opens up from the top. The facade features two recessed panels decorated with hand carved floral and leaf motifs. The coffer is in excellent condition with a rich walnut patina, place the cabinet against a wall in a mud room for your rain boots, or use it at the foot of a bed.
