18th Century French Louis XIV Carved Walnut Serpentine Commode with Marble Top
This large antique fruitwood chest of drawers was crafted in the Burgundy wine region of France, circa 1780; the serpentine commode with reversed curved sides, features three large drawers across the front with original bronze hardware, foliage carvings on the corners, and carved claw feet at the base. The chest has its original “Pierre de Bourgogne” marble top in the white and brown palette (Burgundy stone). The cabinet is in excellent condition and has a rich walnut patina.
