18th Century French Louis XV Carved Cherry Desk with Drawers and Pullout Trays
This elegant antique fruitwood desk was created in the Poitou region of France, circa 1790. Made of wild cherry timber, the large writing table sits on four cabriole legs and features a decorative scalloped apron all the way around. The front has a wide opening with plenty of knee space and is a comfortable size to pull a chair into, the back is embellished with three decorative raised panels. The traditional, Louis XV style desk has two pull-out trays at each end, and two drawers embellished with ornate bronze hardware. The writing table is in excellent condition and has a rich, light walnut patinated finish. This Classic, Baroque desk is not only useful, but would make a beautiful statement placed in the middle of a study or library. Measures: 72″ W x 29.25″ D x 30.50″ H.
