18th Century French Louis XV Carved Giltwood Provencal Mirror with Vine Decor
Decorate a hallway or a powder room with this elegant antique mirror. Crafted in Provence in Southern France circa 1780, the rectangular “Parclose” mirror features a nicely carved cartouche at the pediment decorated with intricate scroll, floral, leaf and vase motif. Both sides are embellished with carved vine decor including tree branches, leaves and grapes, and each bottom corner has shell decor. The piece is decorated with small mirrors around the larger centre mirror, and is an incredible example of Baroque and Rococo French decorative arts. The mirror is in excellent condition with the original gold leaf finish, mercury glass and wood backing. This eye-catching, decorative mirror would make a great addition to a small powder room with its interesting shape and texture! There’s hanging wire on the back for easy handling and installation.
