18th Century French Louis XV Carved Giltwood Wall Mirror from Provence
$2,950
About
This elegant, antique mirror would make a charming addition to a hallway or powder room. Crafted in Southern France, circa 1780 and rectangular in shape, the gilt wood mirror is heavily carved and exemplifies the design elements of the Rococo and Baroque style. The heavily carved pediment features pieces motifs throughout, with dove birds in the corners, crossed with a pair of music instruments in the center, and topped with a crown of flowers and leaves; it is further embellished with beads around the carved frame. The mirror has its original mercury glass and wood backing for structure. The ornate Louis XV mirror is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns its original bright and patinated gold leaf finish. Visible dark spots on mirror, a sign of true authenticity. Measures: 19″ W x 37″ H.
