Use this elegant cabinet as an entertainment center to hide TV and components. Crafted in Normandy circa 1780, the exceptional “buffet deux-corps” with wine decor is built in two sections and sits on scrolled feet decorated with acanthus leaves. The cabinet features a flat molded cornice over a central cartouche decorated with two doves nesting over a laurel leaf crown, and flanked with vine and grape decor on both sides. The upper body features two heavily carved doors with grapes, vines and foliages in high relief. The cabinet opens to reveal an interior fitted with a pair of shelves with drawers. The lower section features two foliate carved raised panel doors embellished with hand carved wine and leaf decor over an intricate scalloped apron draped with swag and tassel decor. All peg construction retains the original barrel hinges and graceful elongated curvilinear brass escutcheons. The elegant cabinet is in excellent condition with a rich walnut patina and exquisite carvings. Original locks and key.
