About
Crafted in Provence, southern France, circa 1790 and built in one section, the antique hand painted tall case clock stands on curved feet over a scalloped apron, and features beautiful lines including a bonnet top over a violin shape body. The movement face is decorated with a repousse brass face depicting the King sun (Louis XIV), held by cherubs on both sides; the mechanism has been cleaned and checked out, and is in good working order keeping time and striking on the hour and half hour. The elegant grandfather clock is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns an exquisite painted decor with floral, music instrument motifs, and the traditional Louis XVI ribbon bow on top of the central door. Weights, pendulum and winding key included. Measures: 20″W x 11″D x 92.5″H.
