This antique marble “Selette” with matching urn was crafted in France, circa 1780. The Louis XIV style pedestal sits on small square feet over a thick sturdy square plinth embellished with a bronze mount at the base decorated with repousse acanthus leaf motifs. The circular stem is decorated at the neck with an ornate bronze ring embellished with foliage and acanthus leaf decor in high relief. The surface is dressed with a swivel square removable top. The circular vase built with the same stone is dressed with elegant bronze handles decorated with lion masks. The body has Roman figures mounts over a square base embellished with The tall variegated pedestal is in very good condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich patinated finish and different shades of marble in beige palette. Place this timeless, classical column and matching vase in the corner of a living room filled with flowers. Some old marble restorations at the base.
