18th Century Louis XV Carved Walnut Serpentine Three-Drawer Commode Chest
This elegant antique fruitwood commode was crafted in Southern France, circa 1760. The chest with curved sides, features a serpentine moulded front with three drawers with recessed panels and dressed with the original bronze handles and matching escutcheons. The cabinet stands on scrolled legs decorated with acanthus leaves terminated with four escargot feet, under a scalloped apron embellished with floral motifs. The large and tall chest is in excellent condition with a rich walnut patina and wonderful patinated hardware. Measures: 48.75″ W x 27″ D x 41″ H.
