19th Century English Sheffield Silver Plated on Copper Meat Dome Cover

This elegant, antique copper dome likely Sheffield, was created in England, circa 1870. Oval in shape, the traditional meat cover has a fluted body and is topped with a naturalistic tree like handle embellished with vine and grape motifs in high relief; the body is decorated with engraved scrolled and leaf decor over the double edge with embossed stripe decor. The large conforming dome-form lid is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich silver plated finish, and would make a beautiful addition to your next dinner party. Markings on the bottom 6251 to underside of handle plate, and W416 to underside of platter lid for further authentication. Measure: 20.25″ W x 14.5″ D x 11″ H.
