19th Century French Barbotine Ceramic Deer and Dog Cache Pot from Sarreguemines

Crafted in Sarreguemines, France circa 1880, the colorful Majolica planter stands on three paw feet; it features a hunt scene in high relief with dogs chasing a deer and flanked by trees on both sides. The round faience cachepot is in excellent condition with rich colors in the brown, blue and green palette. A similar piece is featured in the book “Les Barbotines” by Pierre Faveton page 51.
