This antique Black Forest inkwell was crafted in the Alps mountains of France, circa 1880. The decorative desk accessory is mounted on an elm base, over small round feet. The inkwell features an adorable carved walnut bear head sculpture, his front paws resting on a split log in the center, and flanked by two removable cut glass and metal ink well holders on either side. The inkwell is further decorated with a metal border around the outside edge, and a pen holder. The piece is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina. Measures: 14.5″W x 8.5″D x 5″H.
