19th Century French Black Forest Carved Walnut Jardiniere with Bird Motif

This elegant antique planter was crafted in France, circa 1870. Rectangular in shape with scrolled decor and scalloped edge, the detailed planter is decorated with fine hand carved floral and leaf motifs on all three sides and embellished in the center with a large bird sculpture. The large cachepot is in excellent condition and adorns a rich walnut patina. It has the original tole liner with a floral arrangement custom made to fit the inside (see last picture). Measures: 24.5″ W x 11″ D x 13″ H.
