19th Century French Bronze Doré and Pewter Jewelry Box with Putti Decor
This antique two-tone casket was created in France, circa 1880. Rectangular in shape, the gilt bronze and pewter box is embellished with cherub and scroll motifs. The detail work is outstanding with bas relief decor on all five sides. The inside box reveals the original luxurious blue velvet upholstery. The decorative jewelry box is in excellent condition with a rich patinated bronze and silver finish throughout, and would make a beautiful, useful addition to a desk or vanity table. Maker’s marking on the bottom. Measures: 8″W x 6″D x 3″H.
