About
This heavily carved antique “Saint Hubert” desserte server was crafted in France circa 1870. Hand carved of solid oak wood and built in three sections, the highly detailed cabinet stands on bun feet over a straight plinth, and features exquisite carvings in high relief throughout. The top section is dressed with an important hand carved boar head motif at the pediment flanked with scrolled acanthus leaf decor on both sides. The center part has a display shelf with carved edges, further embellished with floral and leaf motifs on each back panels. The lower section has two carved drawers across the front dressed with iron pulls; it features two doors decorated with carved bird and fish trophy medallions, and embellished with foliage decor. The inside reveals shelving and plenty of additional storage. The spectacular “Buffet de Chasse” is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich oak patina. Place this Black Forest credenza sideboard in a hunting lodge entry, or a dining room in any ranch style house. A true one of a kind with incredible thick carvings! Measure: 54.5″ W x 22″ D x 88″ H.
