19th Century French Carved Walnut and Chestnut Trestle Dining Farm Table
$13,000
About
This large antique dining room table was crafted in southwest France, near the Spanish and French border circa 1880. Built with walnut and chestnut timber, the 9 foot table stands on hand carved baluster legs ending with shoe base, and connected with a thick bottom stretcher for a sturdy, monastery look. The thick tabletop features a elegant frame work made with only a center plank of walnut; the top is further embellished with wrought iron embellishments around each corner. From the structure to the finish, the Louis XIII style trestle table is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a stylish, rich walnut patina with natural distress. Over 9 foot long, the farm table would sit 10 to 14 people comfortably. A true one of a kind! Measures: 112″ W x 32.25″ D x 30″ H.
