19th Century French Carved Walnut Oval Eight-Leg Drop-Leaf Table with Drawers

Crafted in Southern France, circa 1860, this Louis XIII table stands on 8 turned legs connected with bottom stretcher. The large table top with inlaid motifs throughout, opens into a demi-lune or an oval shaped form when expanded completely; it is further dressed with a drawer at each end decorated with brass pulls. This versatile table is in excellent condition and adorns a rich walnut patina; versatile, it could also be used as a console behind a sofa, a half table against a wall or a breakfast or game room table in a kitchen or den!
