About
This elegant fruitwood cabinet was crafted in France, circa 1860. The traditional antique “Confiturier” (French for jelly cabinet) sits on round columnar feet over a straight bottom plinth. It is embellished on both sides by carved circular columns dressed with decorative bronze rings at the neck and base. The cabinet features a drawer across the front over a single door opening to inside shelving. The surface is dressed with the original black marble top. This chest is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina. The Empire style cabinet would make a wonderful powder room vanity with the addition of a sink, or could simply be used in an entry or in a bedroom for extra storage. 2 keys included. Measures: 29″ W x 22″ D x 40″ H.
