19th Century French Empire Walnut Four-Drawer Commode with Black & White Marble
This elegant, antique fruitwood chest of drawers was crafted in France, circa 1830. The traditional commode with veneer marquetry design, features three drawers across the front with original bronze pulls and a fourth additional drawer under the original black and white marble top. The cabinet is embellished by carved round columns on both sides with decorative bronze rings at the neck and base, and additional bronze mount on the facade. Overall, this chest is in excellent condition and has a rich walnut patina throughout. The Empire style piece would make a wonderful powder room vanity with the addition of a sink, or could simply be used at an entrance of a bedroom for storage.
