19th Century French Hand-Carved Walnut Bonnetiere Vitrine from Provence
This elegant, antique bonnetiere was crafted in Provence, circa 1890. The fruitwood bonnetiere (single door armoire) stands on small cabriole legs ending with escargot fee. It features a scalloped apron decorated with the traditional vase basket over a carved drawer dressed with iron pull. The bonnet top with removable crown features a carved flower basket flanked with floral and leaf motifs on the sides. The front door and both sides are dressed with glass panels. The inside reveals three adjustable shelves upholstered with red velvet fabric. The Louis XV Provincial cabinet is in excellent condition commensurate with age and sue and adorns a rich walnut patina.
