19th Century French Hand Painted Blue and White Faience Jardinière from Normandy
Crafted in Normandy, France, circa 1890, the oblong, ceramic planter sits on four scroll feet under a shaped apron. The shallow, detailed planter has elegant side handles, a scalloped rim around the top, and is embellished with a carved decorative shell in the center. The detailed, ornate flower pot features hand painted floral and bird decor medallions on both sides with accompanying foliage and other birds. The porcelain centerpiece is in excellent condition with rich colors in a blue and white palette in the manner of delft . Decorate a mantel or a dining room with this large and colorful antique jardinière. Marking on the bottom. Measures: 26″ W x 8″ D x 9″ H.
