Crafted in Normandy, France, circa 1890, the ceramic planter sits on four scroll feet under a scalloped apron. The shallow, detailed planter dressed with elegant scrolled side handles, features a pierced and shaped rim around the top, and is embellished with a carved decorative shell in the center. The detailed, ornate flower pot is decorated with hand painted floral and bird medallions on both sides with accompanying foliage and other bird motifs. The oblong ceramic centerpiece is in excellent condition with rich colors in a blue and white palette in the manner of Delft . Decorate a mantel or a dining room with this large and colorful antique jardinière. Marking on the bottom for further authentication. Measures: 26″ W x 8.5″ D x 9″ H.
