19th Century French Hand Painted Iron Bucket with Decorative Crest Decor
Place this colorful antique stand at your front door or in your mudroom to collect umbrellas, canes or other accessories. Created in France, circa 1890, the metal bucket with a large top handle, is decorated with hand painted heritage motifs including a helmet over a coat of arms with foliage, and Latin inscriptions “Spes Patriae Rus” (meaning: “The Hope of the Country is the Countryside”). The iron bucket is in excellent condition and has rich patinated colors in the red and black palette; the piece could also be used as a large waste basket.
