19th Century French Henri II Carved Oak Jelly Cabinet with Bird Decor
Crafted in France, circa 1870, the jelly cabinet stands on bun feet over a molded plinth base. The “Confiturier” (French for jelly cabinet) with barley twist column on both sides features a single door decorated with hand carved game bird and reed motifs in high relief; the inside reveals a middle shelf. The small buffet has a drawer embellished with carved foliage decor under a rectangular top decorated with molded edge. The Louis XIII style cabinet is in excellent condition with a rich walnut patina. Key included.
