About
Crafted in France circa 1870, the antique Gothic style sideboard stands on barley twist legs embellished at the bottom with two lower tier shelves for display or storage. The console is built in three sections, the top features a raised backsplash with shield crest at the pediment over an open shelf supported with carved grotesque corbels on both sides, and the back is dressed with the original beveled mercury glass mirrored plate. The carved edge rectangular top has an inset variegated marble, over two drawers decorated with mask pulls and floral rosettes in the corners. The tall and narrow serving table is in very good condition commensurate with age and used, and adorns a rich walnut patina. (Marble restored, some crazing on mirror). Key included. Measures: 47″ W x 18.5″ D x 74.5″ H.
