Crafted in the Burgundy region of France, circa 1870, the rectangular wall mirror has traditional, timeless lines with rounded corners. The frame is decorated with a luxurious silver leaf finish, further embellished with discrete engraved decor around the frame. The classic wall piece features the original mercury glass with visible mercury losses on the original glass (see pictures), and the original parquet backing. The wall mirror is in very good condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich and bright patinated silvered finish. New wire has been installed on the back for easy handling and installation. This Louis Philippe mirror could be added to a number of rooms in your home for a traditional French style, including over a mantel or in a powder room between a pair of sconces.
