19th Century French Louis XIII Carved Oak Barley Twist Table Desk with Drawers
Crafted in Northern France, circa 1870, the antique writing table stands on thick carved barley twist legs ending with turned feet, and connected with an elegant stretcher at the base. The table is fitted with two drawers across the front decorated with carved foliate motifs, and dressed with protruding wild cat pulls. The rectangular top is embellished with molding edges around the perimeter. The Louis XIII style desk is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich blond walnut patina. The table with large working surface area would make a wonderful addition for a study or library. Measures: 45″ W x 23.5″ D x 28.75″ H.
