19th Century French Louis XIII Carved Walnut and Needlepoint Tapestry Armchair
Decorate an office or a study with this large antique fruitwood king armchair, crafted in southern France circa 1860, the important chair is upholstered with the original needlepoint tapestry, embellished with decorative nail heads. It features a tall rectangular back with a carved pierced frieze at the pediment and two-cone shape finials. The armrests are decorated with acanthus leaves and geometric designs, and the turned legs are joined together with a curved X-stretcher at the base. The armchair is in excellent condition with a rich walnut patina and the deep and wide seat makes this important armchair very comfortable. Measures: 29.5″ W x 28″ D x 50.5″ H.
