19th Century French Louis XV Carved Cherry Desk with Drawers
This elegant antique fruit wood desk was created in the Poitou region of France, circa 1870. Made of wild cherry timber, the large writing table sits on four cabriole legs and features a decorative scalloped apron all the way around. The traditional, Louis XV style desk has two pull-out trays at each end, and two drawers embellished with patinated brass hardware across the front. The back is decorated with three raised panels with matching decorative hardware. The writing table is in excellent condition with a rich, light walnut patinated finish, and could be placed in the middle of a study or library.
