19th Century French Louis XV Carved Giltwood Beveled Glass Wall Mirror
Measuring 6.5 feet, this important antique gilt mirror is a one of a kind! Crafted in Paris, France circa 1870, the tall mirror features an arched top decorated at the pediment with a hand carved cartouche of leaf motif in high relief, and embellished with floral and foliage decor on both sides. The frame is further embellished with decorative acanthus leaves in the bottom corners, and dressed with the original beveled mercury glass. The large Louis XV mirror is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, dressed with the original wood backing, and adorns a rich gold leaf finish. Place this elegant and heavily carved mirror over a buffet in a dining room, a console in an entry or simply, over a mantel in a living room. Measures: 37″ W x 78″ H.
