19th Century French Louis XV Carved Giltwood Mirror with Bird Decor
Almost 7 feet tall, this important antique mirror is a one of a kind! Crafted in Paris, France circa 1870, the grand mirror with arched top is decorated with hand carved high relief bird motifs at the pediment, and embellished with shell and foliage decor on both sides. The frame is further dressed with beads and geometric motif around the glass, and dressed with decorative acanthus leaves in the bottom corners. The large Louis XV mirror is in excellent condition with the original mercury glass, wood backing, and adorns a rich gold leaf finish. Place this elegant and heavily carved mirror over a buffet in a dining room, a console in an entry or simply, over a mantel. Measures: 48″ W x 80″ H.
