19th Century French Louis XV Carved Kingwood Parquetry Vitrine with Marble Top
Decorate a den or living room with this elegant antique vitrine bonnetiere. Crafted circa 1890, the fruitwood bonnetiere stands on small cabriole legs over a scalloped apron. The single door armoire is decorated with beautiful, geometric marquetry inlay encircling the front and sides of the piece, and embellished with bronze acanthus leaf mounts at the shoulders. The surface is crowned with a flat, brown marble top. The front door and both sides are dressed with glass panels. The inside reveals two adjustable glass shelves and the back has a gray checker wallpaper. The transitional Louis XV cabinet is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina.
