This beautifully carved, antique fruitwood “estanier” was crafted in Southern France, circa 1880. (An estanier was originally used as a hanging shelf to display a “etains” collection, or a pewter decorative pieces). This Provencal bombe shelf features three shelves across the front with hand carved motifs including flower basket, vase, leaves and wheat. The curved top has five turned, decorative finials and the base features small cabriole feet with finials. The hanging display cabinet is in excellent condition with rich walnut patina.
