19th Century French Louis XV Carved Walnut & Needlepoint Adjustable Piano Stool
This carved antique fruitwood stool was created in Provence, France circa 1880. Standing on cabriole legs ending with escargot feet, the piano seating is decorated with floral motifs at the shoulders, and is embellished with a bottom stretcher. The round seating is upholstered with a beige needlepoint tapestry over a scalloped apron. The adjustable seat extends up to 4 additional inches, with a screw mechanism that twists the comfortable seat up and down. The stool is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina. Some worn spots on the tapestry. Measures: 15.5″ Diameter 19″ Height.
