Crafted in southern France circa 1890 and square in shape, the traditional stool stands on cabriole legs decorated with floral motifs at the shoulders, and ending with escargot feet; it is further dressed with a serpentine X stretcher at the base, embellished with a central rosette. The scalloped bombe apron is decorated with floral and leaf decor. The seat is upholstered with a black leather, and embellished with decorative brass nail heads around the frame. The Provincial stool is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina. Place this elegant, antique fruitwood bench in your den or study for extra seating.
