About
Crafted in Southern France, circa 1880, the antique tall case clock stands on escargot feet under a scalloped apron, and is heavily carved. The cabinet is built in two sections, with beautiful lines including a carved bonnet top, a violin shape body style and a central door with raised panels decorated with carved floral and leaf motifs. The round clock face with blue porcelain Roman numbers, sits in a case embellished with elegant pierced foliage motifs all around. The clock mechanism has been cleaned up and checked up, and is in excellent working order, keeping good time and striking on the hour and half hour. This stately grandfather clock is in excellent condition with a rich walnut patina. Winding key, weights and pendulum included.
