19th Century French Louis XV Inlaid Walnut Confiturier Cabinet from Paris
Crafted in Paris, France circa 1880, the antique cabinet stands on cabriole legs ending with bronze sabots over a scalloped apron. The rectangular top with inlaid motifs sits over a single door decorated with contrasting string inlay, and further embellished with a center foliate inlaid decor. The piece opens to reveal a center shelving for additional storage, and upholstered with paper. The elegant “Confiturier” (aka jelly cabinet) is in excellent condition with a rich walnut patina. Versatile and narrow, the cabinet could be used anywhere from a living room, bedroom or powder room to store utility products. Key included. Measures: 23.5″ W x 14.25″ D x 40.25″ H.
