Crafted in France, circa 1880, and over six foot tall, the parcel gilt and painted frame features carved shell and foliate motifs embellished with scrolled moldings throughout. The piece is dressed at the top with a hand painted oil on board painting depicting a traditional pastoral scene; the scenic outdoor composition features a gentleman courting a young beauty on top of a hill, with a lake in front of a farm house, and mountains in the background. The bottom is dressed with a rectangular flat mirror with mercury glass. The colorful Louis XV trumeau is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns soft patinated colors in the beige palette and embellished with gilt accents throughout.
