Dress a mantel or a living room with this antique gilt mirror. Crafted in France circa 1870, the tall rectangular mirror is decorated with a hand carved bird motif in high relief at the pediment, over the traditional Louis XVI ribbon bow ending with rope and tassels. The scalloped frame is dressed with the original thick mercury glass and wood backing. The large heavy Louis XV mirror is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich patinated gold leaf finish. Place this elegant and heavily carved mirror over a buffet in a dining room, a console in an entry, or in a large powder room. Measures: 35″ W x 62.5″ H. Weighs 76 pounds
