19th Century French Louis XVI Walnut Marquetry Vitrine with Glass Sides and Door
This elegant, antique fruitwood display cabinet was crafted in France, circa 1880. The tall vitrine stands on bun feet decorated with bronze mounts; the top features a crest, which is centered within a floral inlaid, ebonized panel. The same inlay motif is continued in all four corners and across the front drawer as well. In addition, the display piece is embellished by ornate ormolu mounts and contrasting fruitwood banding for stylish sophistication. The large door and both sides are dressed with glass panels from top to bottom, while the inside back and bottom shelf are mirrored for ultimate display conditions. The inside is outfitted with three adjustable beveled glass shelves. The traditional cabinet is in excellent condition with a rich walnut patina throughout the frame. Key included.
