19th Century French Napoleon III Painted Porcelain and Bronze Converted Oil Lamp
This elegant antique oil lamp was converted into a table lamp. Crafted in France, circa 1880, the tall porcelain “lampe a petrole” sits on a round bronze doré base with shell motif feet; it is hand painted with traditional blue and white floral motifs in the manner of delft, and is further embellished at the top with the original bronze oil container and original key. The faience lamp is in excellent condition with new wiring, adjustable brass stem, and a rich patinated polished and gilt finish. Shade included if needed. Measures: 6.5″ diameter 29.5″ height.
