About
Place this elegant antique hall tree in an entry or a mud room to catch coats, hats and umbrellas. Crafted in France circa 1870, and signed on the bottom “Corneau Freres Charleville”, the tall Napoleon III free standing halltree sits on an oval base decorated with floral and foliage motifs over a painted iron droplet tray and an umbrella stand. The ornate hat rack with foliage decor has seven double hooks, and is embellished by an adjustable oval center mirror dressed with the original mercury glass. The impressive cast iron hall stand is in excellent condition with a rich polished steel finish in the black and silver palette.
Brothers Alfred and Èmile Corneau, who were master iron smiths started one of the leading iron foundries in the French Ardennes, in 1846.
