19th Century French Napoleon III Rosewood Cigar Holder Box with Brass Mounts
This elegant antique two-tone fruitwood box was crafted in France, circa 1870; the twelve-cigar holder stands on small bun feet, and features a top finial knob with rotating open and close mechanism when twisting the knob. The outside of all six doors is decorated with brass mounts with music instruments including a lyre. Each inside door is decorated with brass mount which can hold up to three cigars. The rosewood cigar box is in excellent condition with a rich two-tone blackened and walnut patina; use it to decorate a study or a game room. One small mount missing at the base (see picture).
