19th Century French Octagonal Walnut and Painted Tile Jardinière with Tole Liner
This elegant antique planter was created in France, circa 1870 octagonal in shape, the large jardinière features ten white and grey hand painted ceramic tiles all set inside a wooden frame; eight of them have floral decor, and the two at each end have armor soldiers on horses. The planter has the original zinc liner with side handles. The piece is in excellent condition (one tile broken and re glued) with a rich walnut patina.
