This colorful antique composition was painted in France circa 1860. The hand painted maritime scene depicts a beach scene off the Brittany coast. The composition shows fishing boat in the background and two ladies talking on the sandy beach. The painting is set inside its original carved gilt frame. Overall, the painting is in very good condition with rich colors throughout. Signed on the lower right, J. Edmond.
